There has been wide acclaim for the exhibition “100 Presepi in Vaticano” (100 cribs in the Vatican) which this year marked its seventh edition. Since December 8, more than 290,000 adults, young people and children - Romans and tourists alike - have visited around 125 nativity scenes, from 21 countries around the world, exhibited under Bernini’s Colonnade, in St. Peter’s Square.

This year, as always happens, the creativity of the nativity scene artists has amazed visitors, with the Nativity represented with new materials and in ever-new ways.

“We have managed to put together 125 nativity scenes, from 21 different countries. In a sense the whole world is here in Rome, in St. Peter's Square, to proclaim that message of peace and serenity that we all feel the need and responsibility to share, because in our small way we can contribute to building it" - said His Excellency Archbishop Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, at the opening ceremony at the end of last year.

Among the cribs on show at this year's edition are a nativity scene modeled on the Jubilee logo, by the nativity scene artist Tommaso Cei, assisted by nativity scene masters from Limite sull'Arno in Florence, the nativity scene of Rome City Council created by Maestro Christian Apreda, a Japanese nativity scene from Osaka Cathedral, the nativity scene by artist Simone Legno, the creator of the Jubilee mascot, Luce, and a nativity scene by Maestro Angelo Di Maio, a blind nativity scene artist.

The next edition of “100 Presepi in Vaticano” is scheduled for December 2025.
