Jubilee Concerts, the musical program for 2024 continues
The Jubilee Concerts, which form part of the “Jubilee is culture” program in preparation for the Holy Year, continue in the autumn months.
The next appointment is on November 3, 2024, at 6pm at the Auditorium on Via della Conciliazione, in Rome, and will feature the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, who will perform the Fifth Symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich, conducted by Maestro Jader Bignamini, currently Music Director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Then, just a few days before the opening of the Holy Door of St. Peter’s, at 6pm on December 22, 2024, at the Church of Sant’Ignazio in Rome, the Pontifical Sistine Choir will perform polyphony by Palestrina, Perosi and Bartolucci.
These concerts come after two previous musical events in the series: On November 26, 2023 the Orchestra “I Virtuosi di Kiev” performed Antonin Dvorak’s work, Aus der neuen Welt at the Auditorium Conciliazione, and on Sunday, April 28, 2024, Handel’s Messiah was performed by the Florentine Ensemble “Musici del Gran Principe”, conducted by Maestro Samuele Lastrucci.
