The “Domus Spei” opens, the house for Jubilee volunteers is ready to welcome young people and adults

 Dozens of rooms, a hundred beds, a large refectory, a kitchen and a beautiful view of the center of Rome. That’s what awaits the official volunteers of the 2025 Jubilee, young people and adults who will put themselves at the service of the millions of pilgrims who will arrive in Rome starting next December 24th to experience the Holy Year. It is called “Domus Spei” and is located in a building on Via del Monte della Farina 64. It will be open for the entire Jubilee year. All the volunteers, permanent and temporary, will live in the Domus on a rotation basis, and already the Dicastery for Evangelization has received over 7000 applications for voluntary service.

“The first volunteers from all over the world will arrive tomorrow,” said Archbishop Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, as he inaugurated the Domus Spei this morning. “My first thanks goes to the Templar Association, because all the furnishings you see here are their work, through the company L.C.srl. Their generosity came as an act of Providence. It was not easy to find this place, which today, fully renovated, really is a very beautiful space. It is a great joy to see this house, which had not been used for 10 years, so well renovated".

Volunteers will be guaranteed free food and lodging for the entire period of their service in Rome.

"Our thanks also go to the Giorgio Castelli Onlus Foundation, for their ongoing support in the area of preventative medicine, especially cardiac care. This year, Dr. Castelli donated five defibrillators to us, four will be in the major papal basilicas and one will be here, in the volunteers' house" added the Pro-Prefect.
