The Castelli Foundation at the service of the Jubilee
Last Friday, 28 June at 1.30 pm, at the Official InfoPoint of Jubilee 2025 in Via della Conciliazione 7, in Rome, the President of the Castelli Foundation, Dr Vincenzo Castelli, handed over to His Excellency Archbishop Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, a defibrillator that will be installed at the InfoPoint premises.
The Castelli foundation, created to raise public awareness of the importance of preventing cardiovascular disease and to support research in cardiac illnesses, has already announced plans to donate a defibrillator to every papal basilica.
As a gesture of support for the next Jubilee in 2025, the Foundation has promised the donation of six defibrillators, and will run a free training course in CPR techniques and use of the defibrillator for 250 volunteers who will provide assistance to pilgrims visiting Jubilee churches for the entire duration of the Holy Year.
Already in June, two volunteers working at the InfoPoint took an important first step by successfully completing the BLSD (Basic life support and defibrillation) course provided by the Foundation.
Training for all volunteers will begin next November 9th, to ensure that a sufficient number of them are trained before the official opening of the Jubilee Year.
