Entries opened on June 5 for the sixth edition of the international exhibition ‘100 cribs in the Vatican’ – 2023 edition
As happens every year the exhibition will take place over the Christmas period in Rome during December 2023 and January 2024 in St Peter’s Square in the space under Bernini’s colonnade.
Anyone interested can submit their entry free of charge – crib makers, artisans or just enthusiasts in the art of crib making.
To enter your crib scene you must fill in the online form which is on the website of the Dicastery for Evangelization and upload a picture of the crib to be entered. The deadline for submitting an entry is 30 September 2023.
This edition of the exhibition will form part of the rich programme of artistic/cultural and spiritual events being planned in preparation for the Jubilee or Holy Year of 2025. 2023 is also the year in which the 800th anniversary is being marked of the first representation of the crib scene which was created by St Francis of Assisi in the little town of Greccio at Christmas in the year 1223.
